Many people want to know how many engine manufacturers exist in China now. So here would like to collect the information for shared and list some famous one.
1. Dongfeng Cummins, in short is DCEC. It is joint venture company between Dongfeng Motor Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Cummins, ratio is 50:50. Dongfeng manufactured diesel engine B series from 1986 and Cummins joined in 1996. Right now, the power range cover from 80HP to 680HP, and there are B, C, L, LK mechanic series ,ISB, ISDe, QSB, ISLe, ISL, QSL, ISZ, QSZ electronic Fuel Injection series. For G-engine, power covers from 20KW to 200KW. The factory is located in Xiangfan city, Hubei province. DCEC is the most popular engine for power station in China.
2. Shanghai Diesel Engine Co.,ltd was established in 1947, which is an old government holding company. From 1953 starting design and manufacturing the engine, and the fist engine of 6135 series came in 1958. As a state control company, the developing is limited because of some conservative policies and inefficiency, but it seems to change the situation in recent years. Now they are making the best efforts for coach engine marketing. Power range from 50HP to 1600HP, but the max power engine for generator set is 500KW.
3. Foton Cummins (bfcec in short) which is a joint venture company between Beijing Foton Auto by a ratio of 50:50. It was build in 26/03/2008 and mass productive was starting in June 2009.
Their engine power covers 107-168HP, and meets the Euro IV, mostly contributed to truck & construction field. The engine manufacturer develop to the commission control in China.

4. Weichai Power, a China old engine manufacturer which was founded by Weifang Diesel Engine Factory. Later some foreigner companies was joint, which also a government control company. The advantage of Weichai is the marine engine, including the propulsion and auxiliary, Recent years, their industrial engine for construction is developing very fast in China. Factory headquarter is in Weifang, Shangdong Province, north east China.
5. Yuchai Power, which was established in 1951. Comparing with its competitor, this China engine manufacturer did not emphasize on marketing. The factory manufacturing good hydraulic excavator too, so the engine power pack service is well to the end of user in construction field. It covers all the applications such as m engines, engine power pack, gas generator set, construction machinery and logistic and so on.
Factory headquarter is located in Yulin, Guangxi Province, south China.
